She just needs a family who understands that she does have special medical needs and can commit to caring for her.IMPORTANT ASPECTS FOR RESPONSIBLE GUARDIANSHIP OF COMPANION ANIMALS You would never know that she has this kidney defect by watching her play and thrive. It’s impossible to say what her long term prognosis is. But Nala is beautiful, active, strong, and so deserving of all the best life has to offer. We know that placing a dog with a medical condition is challenging. She does have accidents on occasion, at night, if she’s had too much water before bed. She will need to be monitored by a veterinarian and have bloodwork checked every 4-6 months or as needed. We want to ensure that any potential adopter understands that Nala will need to remain on a prescription diet kidney food for the rest of her life. We do have all of her vet records and have spoken to her vet. MEDICAL NOTE Nala has a congenital defect of her kidneys, where they are smaller than normal kidneys. The most important thing to Nala is that she be the center of someone’s world. We are looking to place Nala as an only dog, although she could be a great playdate girl, once she’s settled in somewhere. She would not do well in a home where she’d be alone all day, as she loves her humans and wants to be a part of all the happenings. ![]() She’s super smart, and would make a great agility dog. This girl loves the spotlight and wants to shine. She’s an attention seeker and attention hog. She’s more comfy with women, than with men, upon initial meetings… not in aggressive way… she just tends to look for reassurance that all is ok. ![]() Nala can be a bit unsure in new situations with new people. She would love a large fenced in yard, in addition to a human who will take her on hikes and walks galore. She has a favorite ball, is great at catching frisbees, and is in her glory when she’s able to partake in any sort of fetch game. She knows what she wants, when she wants it, and will absolutely let you know. Meet Nala! She’s almost 3 years old and looking for a very active home. We have to get it done once he’s settled in a home. The security of a fence will aide in training him to walk on leash and also allow him to potty. it will make his leash training easier and safer, as he’s never been walked. KIDS? Teens and older … preferably adults only due to his size and lack of awareness and mannersįENCED IN YARD? Yes. He is not phased by dogs that pass his yard, however. he’s never lived or been socialized with dogs. Who wants to accompany him on the adventure? We will place Bruno in an adult only home, as he’s just too big and strong for littles, and he’s completely unaware of his size and strength.īruno needs positive based training… His journey is just beginning. He needs a new start, where he can be taught how to be the best version of himself. He needs a confident human, a patient human, a committed human. Bruno is a lot of dog, in size and behavior. He really was just smitten with all the attention he was getting. She was able to take it back from him without issue. Bruno was super excited to have a toy from our volunteer. He jumped up to greet them and left them with scratches all over, as a parting gift He also rolled his meatball bod onto its back and welcomed tummy scratches. He was very friendly with our volunteers. In the wrong home, we will be getting a call after 32 seconds, saying he’s “too much”. It just makes it more difficult for us, as a rescue, to place him. He is a trainer’s dream… This boy is going to rock a manners glow up like it‘s his job! We just have to find a human who likes a project that will reap the best reward. Kind of like mud wrestling a hippopotamus. He doesn’t even know what a collar or harness is, and trying to get one on him proved very challenging. He’s not been socialized much, if at all, beyond the confines of his home and family. He’s all of the biggest, strongest, craziest things you can possibly think of, wearing a boxer suitīruno is friendly… so friendly that he will knock you on your arse. But what you can’t tell from the pictures, is that he’s very much a puppy in a tank body. He’s 4 years old and coming into rescue because his family isn’t able to care for him or meet his boxer needs. Chonka Monka, Bruno, is seeking a foster/foster to adopt home in MA RI CT or NH. ![]()
